Description of implementation

The complicated issue of stopping dirt carried on the footwear by tens of thousands of persons a day visiting the hall of the old, historic train station in Gliwice. A conservator of monuments has established a range of the outdoor semi-circular doormats and indoor doormats, drying in the historic vestibules. It has been necessary to build the deep “basements” above which, on a special structure, the rubber and brush cleaning mats have been placed. Each of the outside basements absorbs kilograms of dirt, and gathers water and slush when there is heavy rain and snow storms. The indoor doormats for the pedestrian routes are connected by an information system for visually impaired people.
